disliked being put in the "north wing" which has an entrance at the back of a carpark, nothing to do with the main reception, in fact seemed like a different place. There were some dodgy characters slouching around in there each time we came back late at night which the security man had obviously missed; felt very unsafe and isolated. Pool was out of order, no coffee machine in room, couldn't open the curtains as they directly faced other rooms. The nearby diner they recommended for evening meal as there was none on the premises was near the dodgy Port Authority and one of the druggies wandered in and sat near making us feel very unsafe again. For breakfast there was a deli next door to the carpark into which the police, displaying their guns, from across the road kept dropping in to collect their takeaways, incongruous baroque and classsical music playing in the background presumably to keep the undesirables out. They should build a passage to the north wing that has to be entered only through reception, but then they'd lose some carspace.

We booked this hotel through WOOGO under the pretense that this was a 4-star hotel... I would actually rate this property a solid 2-2.5 star. This includes the granite overtones, and rock hard beds, enough to throw you off in the pictures. Many rooms are motel-style with common outside hallways.

We were put off by the fact that the only reason the staff agreed to move us from an even worse room because their manager happened to stop in when we checked in. He accomodated us as best as he could (he was a nice guy).

No A/C, and its hot tonight... Front desk suggested we keep our window open... yes, the only one, and it faces the common hallway.

I've never wanted to leave a place so badly!

The convenience of parking your car right where you are staying is invaluable. The room was good sized, and well priced. Bit of a walk to Times Square but who cares. Excellent diner almost across the street, even delivers. Good value for the money.

I have stayed at the Travel Inn quite a few times already, and have always found it very pleasant, very convenient, free parking on site, so easy to get to car, then hop on an elevator to take you right up to your room....employees always have been pleasant, and accomatating...highly recommend this hotel; also, a very nice coffee shop right out the front door, also, very friendly employees...this is my first pick when I am planning a hotel stay in nyc...

OVERALL OUR VISIT WAS VERY GOOD.
THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND TIDY.
BUT IM SORRY TO SAY,THAT ON OUR ARRIVAL,(FRI 19TH NOV,EVENING)THE RECEPTION STAFF WERE NOT VERY HELPFUL,AND INDEED QUITE RUDE.THIS WAS THE ONLY TIME IT OCCURRED,THE REST OF OUR STAY YOUR YOUNG LADYS WERE VERY GOOD..

ALSO THE BUILDING WORK NEXT DOOR WAS VERY LOUD,FROM VERY EARLY HOURS,BUT WE ACCEPT THAT PROBLEMS LIKE THIS ARE UNAVOIDABLE.

STILL,ON SAYING THE ABOVE WE WOULD STILL STAY AT THE TRAVEL INN AGAIN.

I really enjoy staying at the Travel Inn, they are always friendly and accommodating. Only a few blocks from Times Square makes the location convenient for Midtown theatre goers and shoppers. Best of all, they have their own parking garage and the price of parking is included in the room charge, no need to come up with extra money as you're getting ready to leave. Also, because you park your own car, you can have access to it while you are in the city...can't find that too often! They also have a very nice indoor/outdoor pool and patio area.

A very convenient location; close to Times Square, Rockerfeller Center and various other attractions, as well as the port authority, penn station, and restaurants/diners. Friendly and helpful staff, very clean, rooms are pretty big (considering its NYC), and a major plus is onsite parking.
I stay here every time I head out to NYC. Highly recommended. Great price, again considering its NYC.

The people were wonderful, helpful and always friendly. If is far enough away from Times Square to be quite and still close enough to walk there. The room was neat and clean and definately roomy enough. The only complaint we could find was that there was mold in the bathtub that was never cleaned while we were.

I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone staying in NYC.

On site parking. Very nice outside pool. Good rooms and service. Very good location. If offered something for all my family. Great to take a dip in the pool after a day walking.

Service was typical friendly. Rooms were of decent size (for NYC) and an added bonus (we personally didn't need it) parking would have been included with the room, something that can be very iportant if you're traveling to NYC with a vehicle.
