El Gaucho offers exquisite dining with fines wines and spirits. Large dining area and attention to detail and service. One of the best steak houses in the Pacific NW. THe lobby bar is not only beautiful, but offers a relaxing atmosphere with great drinks and service.

Who says hotel beds have to be uncomfortable? One night's sleep in these beds, and you'll never stay at another hotel again. It was kinda on the pricey side for me, but then again, the service, the atmosphere, everything about the hotel told me it really wasn't for a single mother with three kids (not for her budget, anyway). Needless to say, I would go back, but I'd leave the kids at home.

IT IS THE CLASS JOINT OF DOWNTOWN PORTLAND. WELL KNOWN FOR CELEBRITY GUEST SUCH AS MADONNA, PAT BENATAR, BRAD PITT, PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH , AND NBA STAR MICHAEL JORDAN. THE SERVICE IS FANTASTIC. THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY. AND THE RESTAURANT'S AND FOOD ARE WONDERFUL.

Location and atmoshere was excellent. We feel if it is good enough for the President, it's good enough for us. Real close to shopping and major downtown Portland venues as well.

We went to the Benson the first night after our wedding and our room wasn’t available so they bumped us to the Presidential Suite! We were impressed, amazed and thankful! It was a grand time and we have never been so pampered. It was a wonderful stay and I would recommend the Benson to anyone wanting to stay in Portland! It’s in the heart of Portland and walking distance to many of the City’s hot spots. It harbors the charm of the early days of Portland while having the modern amenities to make the most sophisticated comfortable an A+ all the way around.

The Benson is a wonderful place to stay. Last year my fiancee took me to dinner at The London Grill and surpirsed me by getting a penthouse room for the night for my birthday. Everything was fantastic. The service at dinner was top notch, later that night we ordered room serive and it was wonderful. The room was more than I expected. A beautil bedroom, the sitting room was very elegant. I would come back time and time again!

The Benson a beautiful hotel and is perfectly located downtown. It is easy to get to, transportation is abundant and you are close to good shopping and restaurants. Be wary at the hotel desk when you arrive, however. We were forced into a more expensive room. My husband is allergic to smoke and despite our specifically asking for a non-smoking room, they would not accomodate us at the rate we locked in through Yahoo travel. Just know, they'll move you, but not as a courtesy. It's pay up, or sleep in smokeville.

The Benson has a terrific restaurant and great overall service. It is a very romantic hotel. The atmosphere helped us reconnect when we really needed it.

We would definately stay at The Benson again.
