I met two collegues of mine at the Hyatt for a meeting that we had in Wichita. The hotel was average. The service was lacking. When I checked in at the front desk it took them 20 minutes to find my reservation. When I finally got to my room, it was dirty and looked as if it had just been vacated. Booked my room a month and a half in advance for meetings at Century 2. My arrival was late evening as resevations was advised.Desk staff rude and ignored my presence when I told them I had reservations and confirmation number. After 15 minute wait I was then told the hotel was overbooked and I would have to stay somewhere else ( a roach/bedbug motel on East side of city) NO THANKS ! At this time ... [more]I asked them to phone another hotel of my choice where I had stayed before, the desk clerk again tried to ignore me.The clerk then went behind a wall where I could not see what he was doing. He claimed he phoned this hotel and no vacancies and he pretty well shrugged his shoulders like "oh well" After much discuss I decided to drive to The Hilton Garden Inn (Bradley Fair) where I am aquainted with staff from priors stays.The Hotel staff advised me they were full but offered to find me a room which within 5 minutes found a room at The Inn at Willowbend.Hilton staff phoned Hyatt and advised them they would be "walking me" which means picking up the tab on my hotel.

Hilton Garden Inn or Inn at Willowbend will continue to be my choices for overnight stays in Wichita. Thank you Hilton Garden Inn evening staff of November 16,2005. [less]

Not a customer-friendly layout. Parking was cumbersome, elevator didn't work without a key (a pain when your hands are full).
