By Hidden Vacations User from Laguna Hills, CA • So much for hospitality and customer satisfaction
Overall Rating: 2 Location [2] • Room [4] • Service [2] • Value [2] I visited Silverton to see if it would be a good place to bring my family. What I found was a place that flat out does not care about customer satisfaction. I stopped at the buffet at 2:45 in the afternoon and as they were starting to take my money I was told I only had 15 minutes to eat because they close at 3:00. I ended up eating at their grill/diner and this was the only good thing to come fro... [more]m my visit, the food was good and the service was the best. After lunch I decided to try the crap tables. There I found a $3.00 minimum table with six people gambling. The dealers were very slow to make payouts between rolls of the dice, and made several mistakes, but were very quick to rush the shooter. In general the whole crew at the table I was at had a bad attitude. Myself and two other gamblers spoke with the pitboss about the attitude and rudeness of the dealers. I was shocked to find that they supported the dealers lack of regard for customer service at a lightly loaded table on a saturday afternoon. You would think a place so far removed from the strip would try to do their best to retain customers. I was approached by another manager at the casino to talk about my experience. I discussed it with her and she said she would have the manager of operations call me. She felt he should hear about it. He did finally call me and basically had the same opinion. Customer service and hospitality takes a back seat to running their games as fast as possible. They would stand a better chance of making more money if they could keep gamblers in the casino longer rather than trying to rush the game, trying to take their money as quickly as possible. I went back to my suite at the Stratosphere and gambled in their casino, where they know how to treat customers right. I will never bother to stop at Silverton again. [less]
