MAYFLOWER PARK HOTEL

User reviews for MAYFLOWER PARK HOTEL

By Hidden Vacations User from Tahoe City, CA • Wonderful older hotel

Overall Rating: 10   Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [8]

A fabulous older hotel, nicely updated. Excellent location. Staff was very courteous and attentive and most helpful. The room, although not overly large, was comfortable and had all the amenities I look for and value - a desk, good lighting, high-speed internet connection (free!), comfortable bed with soft linens, soft, fluffy towels.

Minor annyoances: not much shelf space in the bathroom (I tend to spread out...), and it was impossible to regulate the hot water in the shower to a constant temperature, had to continually re-adjust. But then again, I was on the 12th (top) floor, so maybe that was a factor. And this being an older hotel, the elevators were rather on the slow side.

But the positive far outweighed the negative, and I would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

The location cannot be beat and the staff is very friendly. The suites are large and comfortable. The hotel is lovely and historic. I've stayed there many times and highly recommend this property.

The Mayflower has some major issues with their facilities including their rooms, heating/AC, and plumbing. The staff seemed very helpful and responsive, but the facilities just weren't there. The rooms were a bit noisy, and the seemed a little shabby in comparison to other hotels in the area. Plumbing in the bathtub was a nightmare.... wouldn't work properly and the water pressure was an issue. relatively convenient to things (especially the Market) and the monorail (if it is working), but still not the experience I had hoped.

The location was very convenient to the rental car location (Avis). Restaurant was good, but not superb. Happen to have a package with breakfast included, tickets to Art Museum, etc. made it worthwhile, but probably not if priced separately.

My wife and I stayed here for our first getaway from the kids in two years. It was the best weekend we have ever had. I opted for the romance package (champagne, chocolate and roses) and it was still less expensive than other hotels normal rates in the area. The location was tremendous, due to the fact that we didn't have to get into car all weeekend. It was not the most glamourous room, but very comfortable. The service was extremely nice and helpful.
