Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [6] • Service [10] • Value [8] | quiet and restful, excellent service | | not enough rooms with two separate beds - only 3 |
The service is unparalleled. Right from the first minute on the property we were looked after very well.
We were in one of the lowest priced rooms on the veranda. It was small but comfortable. There is a fridge in each room, TV, coffee maker and free snacks with fresh fruit. The fridge is stocked with water, juice and soft drinks - all free of charge.
Because it ha... [more]s only 30 units, it is very quiet. I never had to share the pool with another guest. Pool is large and suitable for swimming laps. Large towels are available by the pool for swimmers, hairdryers and terry bathrobes are available when requested.
Location is very convenient to shopping and entertainment. Excellent restaurant shares the property and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner served wherever requested on the property.
We're going back next year! [less]

Built in 1925 as a private residence in Palm Springs, Calif., the Ingleside Inn offers intimate accommodations, attentive service and magnificent views of the nearby San Jacinto Mountains. Serving patrons from US presidents to movie stars, the Inn remains of one of Palm Springs' known celebrity haunts, and was named in 1990 as an official Palm Springs Historical Landmark. The Inn is totally secluded but only steps away from downtown Palm Springs, including shopping, the Desert Museum and the Palm Springs Airport. A two hour drive east of LA, Palm Springs was once famous as a winter retreat for Hollywood stars. Today, it's the home of retirees, 10,000 swimming pools, 85 golf courses and hundreds of plastic surgeons. Area attractions include the hiking trails in the Andreas, Murray, Palm and Tahquitz canyons, which are shaded by fan palms and surrounded by towering cliffs. Visitors can take an aerial tramway that climbs 6000ft from the desert floor up into the San Jacinto mountains. This hacienda style Inn features 30 individually decorated suites and villas. Many rooms have antiques, fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, stocked refrigerators and private patios. Non smoking rooms are available. The inn's well known restaurant, Melvyn's, offers award winning Continental cuisine in an elegant, old world environment, complete with a fully restored 1895 carved oak and mahogany bar, fine antiques, world class wine cellar and waiters in linen jackets. The Casablanca Room, an intimate piano bar and lounge, serves award winning martinis and provides entertainment and dancing nightly. Hotel services and amenities include a 24 hour Olympic size pool and Jacuzzi, wedding services in the hotel's romantic courtyard and special rates and play times at many of the area's golf courses for Ingleside guests. The Inn also can provide special post operative care for guests recovering from plastic surgery procedures at local Palm Springs clinics.
