We were so excited to visit Shreveport for the first time, but everything went bad. When we first arrived at the hotel, we stood in line at the check in while the V.I.P's were attended first by the one front desk attendant that they had there. We had been in line, along with 2 other couples for about 15 minutes waiting for our service, but more V.I.P's kept coming. Finally, as she notic... [more]ed that there were no more she looked at us and asked what it was that we needed. I would have thought it pretty apparent the answer to that since we were standing in the check in line with all our luggage. She told us to go over to her line so she could check us in. Why didnt she have us do that earlier instead of having us wait so long? Bad customer service.
Secondly, we get to our room and the carpet is soaking wet. There is a message on the phone stating that there had been a plumbing problem somewhere and water was just spilling through. Thats all we got! Just a message! The room started to smell of must and mildew. It was not good.
On the positive side, we did get a room with a great view (overlooking the river). The bathroom was very elegant and classy looking. The employees for the casino were very nice and had great customer service skills. The casino is small but for the slot machine lovers it could be paradise.
We have decided that we are probably not going to repeat a stay at this hotel if we are to visit Shreveport again. [less]

I am an elite slot player and there are far too many others that pay out! "Rewards " program has become a joke. Horseshoe is the place to be!
Casino dirty, can't get a drink and food lousy.

The hotel was clean and the room was a lot bigger than we expected especially since we only reserved a two person room. We had a good view of the 'muddy' Mississippi. We had room service for breakfast and it was excellent and delivered fast.
There's plenty of room in the casino with multiple floors however we didn't hear anyone whooping it up over their winnings. I'm ... [more]thinking the payout is not great. [less]
