The location of this hotel is not on the Seawall, but the rooms were nice and clean. The rates weren't as crazy as the rates on the Seawall. Customer Service was nice and accomodating no real hassles. We had reservations and everything was as quoted.

My travel partner and I were very disappointed with the quality of the Super Motel 8 in Galveston. We stayed here one night during the month of Aug, 2005.

The service was stale and the person at the desk was quite rude. The room featured a refrigerator that did not cool, there was no fan in the (stuffy) restroom, and we had a disfunctional blinking lamp over the sink. During our st... [more]ay, there was a group of riff raff hanging outside the hotel untill the early morning hours. We even caught one of them looking in the cabin of our vehicle!

The location is okay, about a block away from the beach. Its kinda hidden, located behing a Waffle House. I recommend travelers to think twice about staying at this Motel. [less]

I liked that it was so near the casway, now that they have built on that end of the Island. I went to a, T.S.H.P., @ Moody Gardens Hotel/Confention Center. By my self, it was out of my pocket, ..so I stay @ Motel 8. You can't beet the prices, and it is just as nice , clean , even closer to reasonable places to eat.I really, really, liked it.
