I guess we liked the room ok. It was clean and private. staff were average except one girl at reception during the day she was very helpful the day the snowstorm came. It was too far from New York manhattan and all the attractions. Taxi's did not know the area at all. very expensive to go to manhattan every day 60.00 american each day by cab. First time in New York and we took it in stride. Next time will definitly be right in the middle, walking distance to all attractions. We paid 129.00 per night american and with taxi fare could of stayed in 200.00 plus room right in the heart of the city.First time ok.

me and my family stayed here 2nd week of december 05. the room was quite large. to the eye it was clean but it seeed that under the beds were never cleaned. also there was no cable tv in the room as advertised but there was a dvd player so if you have kids take some with you as trying to entertain jet lagged kids at 4 in the morning is not fun. the hotel is about 10-15 min walk to subway and there is a shuttle bus. the breakfast self service was brilliant waffles, cearals and drinks all you could need. the hotel was under going some improvements on the ground floor new carpet beds etc so that might be being done in the whole hotel.
overall the hotel was good value for money and if you are just wanting some were to rest your head it is perfect but if you can afford it i would stay in manhattan as there is nothing in the way of attractions or sights in the immediate area. also we were lucky as we had a city view however alot of guests had a view of the famous queens graveyard which was opposite.

We decided to stay at Best Western solely on the fact that they provide shuttle service to the subway. We traveled by Amtrak so this was vital. After a minor mix-up with our reservation (I discovered before our trip) everything went very smoothly. The manager had left a note with the front desk correcting the problem.

We were very happy with our room (2 beds that we booked directly from Best Western's website) and the mattress was so comfortable, I got my best nights sleep in months.

The extended Continental breakfast included 2 waffle irons with pre-measured batter prepared in cups for simple preparation (don't forget to use cooking spray) and the waffles were perfect. Also included fruit, cereal, delicious pastries, bagels & spreads, juice, etc.

All the people who worked there were so helpful and the drivers were on hand to take us to and pick us up from the subway at all hours. Sometimes we had to wait if the driver was taking people to the airport, etc., but that was a minor inconvenience. The subway station at 40th and Lowery has many flights of steps, and has no escalator or elevator (like most of the subway stops; I pity the poor elderly people who have to travel around the City), so we came with our luggage by cab from Penn Station.

I am planning on staying at Best Western City View next year and any time I visit NYC.

My husband and I were thrilled with our stay. We were in NYC visiting family and friends and the City View Inn was convient, comfortable and accessible. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Although it's not the fanciest hotel in the area, it definitely is a good deal. Very nice jacuzzi style bath tub, small continental breakfast. Walking distance to the subway, or complimentary shuttle rides. Less than 20 mins to Times Square.
