Our experience at the Red Roof in Rutland was very pleasant. We stayed there twice within a month. With the AARP and government rates available there, plus continental breakfast, (and not just pastries, we had waffles and fruit).
Across the parking lot (about 200 feet), is Denny's if your looking for a little more.
