Overall Rating: 2 Location [6] • Room [2] • Service [2] • Value [2] Worst customer service/accommodation that I have ever experienced. I found them through hotels.com. Since this was sort of a spur of the moment trip to Tahoe, we didn't have much time to plan.
Lake Tahoe Inn seemed alright from hotels.com so I booked there. I reserved a room with two queen size beds. We arrive, check in, go in the room and see that there is just one king s... [more]ize bed and a foldaway one in the closet (that when opened, the center sank and the bed looked more like a hammock). I go back to the counter to inform them of the mistake and was told that room is the last available at the hotel, but he was willing to cancel for me and not charge a cancellation fee. He also said to contact hotels.com and see if they can find me another room. I told him that I'd call hotels.com first to see if they can fix this problem before the reservation is cancelled. I did not want to cancel and then find out from hotels.com that there was no vacancies. Hotels.com SUCKS! The rep. told me that if I had read the fine print I would know that they do not guarantee the room size and number of beds that I had reserved. The rep made no apologies and did not want to compensate at all. I got frustrated and told them that is the first and last time I will ever use their service. The rep said, "you should have carefully read the terms and policies before you agreed to book the reservation."
After partying that evening at Altitude in the Harrah's casino till the early a.m., my friend wanted to take a shower back in our hotel room. The shower emitted a fine mist and it wasn't adjustable. We were trying to be considerate and didn't want to bother the owner/manager that late in the evening. In the morning, we let them know about the condition of their shower. They never even offered to fix it. We let them know that we were not going to be able to check out at 11am We asked to be allowed to stay a few hours past the checkout time for free as compensation for the wrong room type given and improper working of the shower. He declined so we asked what the fee is for not checking out at the right time. He said the first hour he wouldn't charge, but each additional hour will be $10. We figure that was pretty insignificant and took advantage of a full day of boarding in before heading back home to SF.
When we get back from the slopes, we find out from my friend who stayed behind in the room that the owner/manager was harrassing her...asking when we were leaving and it's way past the check out time. We we're like WTF, we informed them of our extension and willingness to pay overtime despite the awful customer service we were experiencing. We should have been allowed to stay the extra 4-5 hours at no cost to us! Upon finally checking out, one of my friends gives her input to the owner/manager's wife who was handling counter at the moment about our experience. Of course, she was on her husband's side. They said we should have asked them to fix the shower head. My friends and I were like why should a guest ask to have something fixed...when a customer informs them of something improperly working, it should be fixed. We let them know that the we were going to report them to Better Business Bureau and they said go right ahead. We also said that were are never going to stay here again and are letting all our friends know never to stay at such a dump. They had the nerve to say that they didn't like us and wouldn't want us back.
Well, you can guess what my friends and I are up to today and maybe the next...reporting to BBB, hotels.com and whoever else we can about the substandard living accommodations this place is. I regret not taking photos of the place to show proof of how bad it was. [less]

Overall Rating: 2 Location [2] • Room [2] • Service [2] • Value [2] This place is a sewer. The bedding was so dirty I had to get a blanket out of my car to sleep with. The bathroom was worse than a bad gas station. The owners were very rude when we complained. I can not believe they can charge what they do.We booked for two nights but only stayed one. I would rather go home early than stay another night. They probably rent this place by the hour it was so bad. I n... [more]ow have the number for the health department and I will now call them. I certainly hope the health department will close them down until the owners at least fix what is broken and clean the rooms and grounds as they should. [less]

Overall Rating: 2 • Service [2] Insects in carpet, broken handrail on staircase, toilet not bolted to the floor and leaked, broken ice machine, half-empty filthy pool (in summer!) broken mattress springs, gross shower stall and the owner is aggressive and unfriendly.
