By ziastars from Las Cruces, NM • Quaint, Romantic, well located
Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [10] What a great time we had...this place was a delight! It was well located, easy to find, staff was friendly and accomodating. The Casita was great...had it's own little kitchen and living area with patio....it was private and romantic and very Santa Fe! We enjoyed ourselves and will return again. Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [10] I stayed at Las Palomas in Aug. when the place was quite crowded with tourists, but you'd never know it by the great location of this hotel. Although it's only 3 blocks from the main square, it's located on a quiet residential street and seemed like an oasis. My territoial studio was charming with a gas-lit fireplace(which I actually used, the nights get chilly) and a kitchenette. The ... [more]breakfast(included in the room rate) was fabulous with homemade waffles and cappacino. The entire staff was extremely efficient and helpful and I can't say enough about the owner, Neil Rosenshein. Not only did he get me a ticket for a sold out opera, he even lent me a jacket!! Now that's great service!!!! And don't miss a trip to Ten Thousand Waves, a wonderful Japenese type spa, a few minutes outside of town-fantastic! [less]

Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [10] I’ve never written a review of a place we’ve stayed, but this is worth writing about. We just finished an eight day stay at Las Palomas. We had stayed there eight years ago, loved it, and wanted to return. It was even better than we remembered. The units consist of a series of casitas, and apartments. All are housekeeping units, with cooking facilities, and are modern, and well maintained. Th... [more]ey’re far more comfortable and charming than a hotel room, especially on a longer stay. There’s more to like – the rates are modest by Santa Fe standards, and the room rate includes a very good continental breakfast, and free parking. The location is excellent, too - on a quiet residential street, but only a ten minute walk from the Plaza, and a ten minute drive from the opera. There is a hot tub, sauna, and workout room. The owner, Neil Rosenshein, is on hand at breakfast most mornings. He’s a wonderful fund of knowledge about opera, if you’re there for opera season. Staff and service were first rate. We will make Las Palomas our home on any future visits. [less]
