Birmingham ZooDescriptionThe Birmingham Zoo is home to approximately 750 animals of 250 species from six continents. Among them there are many endangered species, such as Asian elephant, Indochinese tiger, North American river otter, red panda or ring-tailed lemur.
The Birmingham Zoo draws more than 450,000 visitors annually. It was named Alabama's top tourist destination by the state's Bureau of Tourism and Travel.
Entrance FeeAdults: $11 Children (age 2-12): $6 Seniors Citizens (age 65+): $6 Zoo admission is half-price on Tuesdays for individuals and families.
Operating HoursFrom 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Extended Summer Hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day): Monday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday-Sunday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Zoo is closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
