Los Angeles County Museum of ArtDescriptionLos Angeles County Museum of Art features an impressive collection of art: it hosts more than 150,000 works from around the world. This collection is considered the most comprehensive in the western United States. It includes works by Degas, Rembrandt, Hockney, and Monet. American, Latin American, Islamic, and South and Southeast Asian works are also very well represented. The museum features a specially designed pavilion for Japanese art with collection of Japanese Edo paintings that's rivaled only by the holdings of the emperor of Japan. The huge complex of the museum was designed by three very different architects over a span of 30 years. The collections are spread through five buildings on the main campus, plus another building two blocks away.
