Golden Gate Bridge DescriptionGolden Gate Bridge was built in 1937, and in our days it remains an engineering masterpiece, like it was over half a century ago. Stretching over 4,200 feet, the bridge connects San Francisco with Marin County. Golden Gate Bridge impresses sightseers with its simple but powerful art-deco design. It provides breathtaking views of the Bay Area. The east walkway gives a glimpse of the San Francisco skyline and the bay islands, while the view west takes in the hills of the Marin Headlands, the curving coast south to Land's End, and the Pacific Ocean. A vista point on the Marin side affords a spectacular city panorama.
