Vizcaya Museum and GardensDescriptionThis magnificent mansion was built in 1916 for agricultural industrialist James Deering as a winter residence. The mansion is now open to public. It has 70 rooms, and 34 of the are filled with paintings and sculptures, dating from the 15th through the 19th centuries. Most of the original furnishings still remain in the Vizcaya Museum. The mansion is surrounded by 10 acres of formal gardens. They are accented with statuary, fountains, and balustrades, overlooking Biscayne Bay.
