Mission San Luis de Apalachee

Description

Mission San Luis is a 60 acre archaeological park, located atop of one of Tallahassee's most scenic hills. Mission San Luis was established by Spaniards in 1656, and in 1704 Spaniards and Apalachee burned and evacuated San Luis two days before British-led troops arrived. The complex includes archaeological evidence of a Spanish fort, church and residences, an Apalachee council house and Indian village.
