 Built in 1808, Fort Jackson is the oldest standing brick fortification in the state. It has been a part of Georgia’s history for nearly two centuries. Visitors of the Fort can explore the tunnel-like passageways that used to house soldiers and store ammunition and supplies. Cannons and other weapons are on display throughout.

 Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum displays ship models, paintings and maritime antiques, principally from the great era of Atlantic trade in the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum is located in the elegant mansion built for William Scarbrough, one of the principal owners of the steamship Savannah.

 Columbus Museum is one of the largest in the Southeast. It has wonderful collection of American drawings, paintings, sculpture and decorative arts, with a special emphasis on the Southeast. The museum is housed in a sprawling historic home with a picturesque garden.

 A popular Atlanta attraction, the exposition showcases the world's most popular soft drink that was created here in Atlanta in 1886. The three-story pavilion houses Coca-Cola memorabilia, numerous interactive displays, high-tech exhibits, and video presentations. There is also a gift shop, selling everything Coca-Cola - everything from refrigerator magnets to evening bags.

 This oldest public art museum in the South was designed by William Jay in 1819 for Alexander Telfair. The museum houses a collection of both American and European paintings. The permanent collection includes over 4,500 works of art.

 Located in an old train station, this museum showcases the city’s history from its founding in 1733 to the present day. Exhibits range from old locomotives to a tribute to Savannah-born songwriter Johnny Mercer.

 Located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, the Margaret Mitchell House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Here Margaret Mitchell wrote her Pulitzer prize winning novel, "Gone With The Wind." The house features a lot of historical and anecdotal information on Mitchell, as well as "Gone With The Wind" memorabilia.
