 Pacific Tsunami Museum serves as a living memorial to those who lost their lives in past tsunami events. Visitors can learn many interesting facts about tsunamis. The museum includes an interactive computer center, a science room, a theater, a replica of Old Hilo Town, and a keiki (children's) corner.

 Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is a unique tropical nature preserve and sanctuary. The 40-acre garden, nestled between the crashing surf and a thundering waterfall, houses more than 1,800 species of tropical plants, including palms, bromeliads, ginger, heleconia, orchids, and ornamentals.

 One of Hawaii's top visitor attractions, Polynesian Cultural Center showcases seven Polynesian regions: Fiji, Hawai'i, the Marquesas, New Zealand, Samoa, Tahiti and Tonga. Visitors travel through this museum by foot or in a canoe on a man-made freshwater lagoon.

 The R.W. Meyer Sugar Mill, where Molokai Museum is located, is the last of its kind in Hawaii. It has century-old steam engine, mule-driven cane crusher, copper clarifiers, and redwood evaporating pan. The museum traces the history of sugar growing on Molokai and features special events. It serves as the venue for the annual Molokai Music Festival.

 The 43-acre Honolulu Zoo attracts both children and adults. It is home for a rare Hawaiian nene goose, a Hawaiian pig, and mouflon sheep. The zoo also houses such ordinary zoo inhabitants as elephants, lions and zebras.

 Foster Botanical Garden is a blooming oasis amid the high-rises of downtown Honolulu. It has one of the nation’s largest collections of tropical plants—about 10,000 species in all, including rare and endangered varieties. The garden served as the setting for several Hollywood films and TV shows.
