Honolulu Zoo

Description

Located near Kapiolani Park, Honolulu Zoo is a popular Honolulu attraction. It welcomes more than 750,000 visitors every year. It occupies 43 acres and includes a number of exhibits, such as the African Savanna, Tropical Forest, Pacific Islands and Children’s Zoo. Honolulu Zoo is the only zoo in the United States that originated from a king’s grant. Visitors of the zoo will see the Hawai'i state bird - the endangered nene. The animal collection of the zoo also includes gazelles, monkeys, rhinos, cheetahs, porcupines, elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, hippos, warthogs, exotic birds, vultures, turtles, lizards, snakes, tree frogs and much more. Moonlight tour offers a rare behind-the-scenes look into the lives of the zoo's nocturnal residents.

From 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
Closed Christmas Day.
