USS Arizona MemorialDescriptionThe Arizona Memorial is the most visited attraction in Hawaii with an estimated 3,000 visitors each day. Visitors come from around the world to see the place where the peace was interrupted and paradise lost. On a quiet Sunday morning December 7, 1941 this sheltered harbor on Oahu Hawaii became the catalyst for the USA's involvement in World War II.
The memorial was erected over the sunken wreck of USS Arizona. It is designed to encourage quiet contemplation, and to appeal to our memory and sense of sacrifice. The interpretive program consists of a 23-minute documentary film and a U.S. Navy shuttle boat to the USS Arizona Memorial.
Strict security measures prohibit purses, handbags, fanny packs, backpacks, camera bags, diaper bags, luggage and/or other items that offer concealment. Visitors may bring a camera and cam-recorder.

The USS Arizona Memorial is approximately a 45-minute drive from Waikiki, on the Pearl Harbor Naval Base. For those without cars, several options are available: Honolulu public transit buses stop regularly at the Visitor Center and can be boarded in Waikiki. The #20 and #42 bus will take you to the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center.

Operating HoursThe park is open seven days a week 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving Day, December 25, and January 1.
Interpretive programs, including a documentary film about the attack on Pearl Harbor and the boat trip to the USS Arizona Memorial, begin at 8:00 a.m.
