The DNCFR (Dodge National Finals Rodeo) is the most popular inaugurated competition in Pocatello, Idaho. PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association), and members of the Pocatello-based, Frontier Rodeo Association, have been discussing the idea of a championship competition to feature the circuit champions from across the country for many years. As a result appeared a championship format where champions competed head to head and against each other to decide the winner of the gold champion's buckle of the National Circuit Championship.
