Dana-Thomas House

Description

It was 1902 when Springfield's socialite and activist, Susan Lawrence Dana, hired Frank Lloyd Wright, an architect from Chicago, to remodel her family home. The Dana-Thomas House is one of Wright’s finest prairie-style homes. It has 35 rooms in the 12,000 square feet of living space which includes 3 main levels and 16 varying levels in all. The Dana-Thomas House houses the largest collection of site-specific, original Wright art glass and furniture. It is also a brilliant showcase of craftsmanship in glass doors, windows and light fixtures, exquisite mural and terra cotta sculpture.
