Indianapolis ZooDescriptionThe Indianapolis Zoo celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2004. Since opening in 1964, the Indianapolis Zoo has grown into a world-class facility. It is home to over 2,000 animals and Indiana's largest aquarium. All animals live in their natural settings, the Zoo attempts to replicate the natural habitat as much as possible. A special petting area allows children to touch, but not feed, the tamer animals. There's an enclosed dolphin show and a roller-coaster. The White River Botanical Gardens are also located on the zoo grounds.
