The Oliver InnDescriptionThe magnificant home, where the Oliver Inn is nestled, is one of South Bend's most treasured local historical landmarks and was home to the Oliver families for over 100 years. James Oliver built this home and then gifted along with its one acre grounds to his daughter, Josephine Oliver Ford, for "$1.00 and LOVE." It is on the National Registry of Historic Places. The Victorian romance of the Inn reflects the times of South Bend's most famous families, the Olivers and the Studebakers.
The Oliver Inn is an ideal site for any occasion such as wedding parties, reunions, retreats, or any other event that brings family and friends together. Shaded by more than thirty tall maple trees, this 25 room estate is cozy and richly decorated. The guests will experience the glow of the Waterford crystal sconces, the beautifully restored maple flooring, and the hand-crafted spiraling staircase which is highlighted by the "guardian angel". The Oliver's library is known locally for its baby grand piano with computerized disk player offering guests the choice of popular, country, jazz or classical music for any occasion or mood.
