Des Moines Art CenterDescriptionDes Moines Art Center is internationally acclaimed museum, housing impressive collection or art works with a major emphasis on contemporary art. The permanent collection of the Art Center is a wonderful selection of works of art from the 19th and 20th centuries, including works of Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keefe and Henri Matisse. 1600 artists are represented at the Des Moines Art Center, and about 4000 works of art are on display.
Des Moines Art Center is a piece of art in itself. It consists of three buildings, each designed by a celebrated architect: Eliel Saarinen, I.M. Pei and Richard Meier.
