Audubon Aquarium of the AmericasDescriptionAudubon Aquarium of the Americas houses sea creatures from the Caribbean, Amazon, Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi River. The aquarium's design allows visitors to feel part of the watery worlds by providing close-up encounters with the inhabitants. Each of the four major exhibit areas - the Amazon Rain Forest, the Mississippi River, the Caribbean Reef, and the Gulf Coast - is home to fish and animals native to that environment. The penguin colony at the Aquarium attracts many visitors. Penguin feeding takes place daily, at 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. IMAX Theatre shows 3D movies about sea inhabitants.

Getting ThereDirections from the West: Via Interstate 10 East, exit at Poydras Street (Exit 234B). Continue on Poydras approximately 1 mile. Turn left on Tchoupitoulas Street, then right on Canal Street. The Aquarium is located at the foot of Canal Street at the Mississippi River.
Directions from the East: Via Interstate 10 West, exit at Canal/Superdome (exit 235B), turning right onto Canal. The Aquarium is located at the foot of Canal Street at the Mississippi River.
