The Maine Narrow Gauge

Description

In the late 19th century, Maine had several narrow-gauge railways, working on rails 2 feet apart. Most of these trains have disappeared, but this nonprofit organization is trying its best to preserve the remaining examples. The short ride on a train that moves on a rail line along Casco Bay at the foot of the Eastern Prom is the perfect opportunity to relax with the whole family. Views of the islands are outstanding and the ride itself is not very fast. It would be interesting for both children and adults to learn some new facts about the history of the railroad and of the place, too.
Your little one could spend his or her birthday party in one of these old railroad cars. It is an affordable, funny and unforgettable way to celebrate this special day.
