Walter Brown, who was Portland's resident until 1929, built the Wild Iris Inn in 1894 as a two-family house. The Victorian-style building holds many of its original features. It has been used as a bed and breakfast for five years. The Innkeeper Diane Edwards and her family warmly welcome guests to the Wild Iris Inn.
A buffet breakfast including homemade granola, yogurt, fresh fruits in season, and an variety of homemade breads or muffins is included in the room rate.
There are seven guest rooms with five private baths. The rooms have been renewed with care and fitted up comfortably. The cozy living room features a TV, VCR, stereo, videos, games, and books library.
