Tyson's Canyon RanchDescriptionTyson's Seven Mile Canyon Ranch is a high mountain desert ranch where the coyotes still play. This is the best kept secret of the West. Guests can enjoy the ambiance of the high desert and the serenity of nature. The ranch is home to some of the largest herds of free roaming mustangs in the west. Hiking, biking, ATV trails, special events, modern, upscale accommodations and weddings in the west are just a few of the reasons to visit Tyson's Ranch.
The ranch is isolated and quiet, yet a variety of town attractions is within the reach. The Comstock and Virginia City (one mile from the ranch) is rich with heritage, from it's early beginnings as a mining camp during the boom of 1859, to a city of about 75 thousands residents in 1875. Today, Virginia City is still alive and kicking with much of its old west charm. Some of the attractions include Piper's Opera House, the Virginia & Truckee Railroad, and the Chollar mine, not to mention the numerous 19th century shops and buildings on "C" street. Also those who are looking for summer events can call on Carson City, Lake Tahoe, and Reno, which are no more than one hour away from Tyson's Canyon Ranch.
AmenitiesThis desert oasis offers many sites for pleasure and relaxation: lush lawns, towering shade trees, colorful flower gardens and miles of groomed hiking, biking and ATV trails. Outdoor hot tubs, evening campfires, hay rides, cattle dogs, music events and cowboy poetry are to add to a perfect getaway.
The ranch boasts 5 newly completed guest lodges in western luxury. Guests are offered a hearty ranch breakfast and gourmet dinner faire in the Canyon Ranch Room, unique second story barn restaurant with magnificent mountain views.
