Cannon MountainDescriptionCannon Mountain (formerly Profile Mountain) is a 4,100 foot peak in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Cannon's ski area is one of the oldest in North America. Trails had been cut on the mountain prior to 1933, but the mountain became wide known that year, when the Taft Slalom was cut as the first racing trail in North America. Cannon Mountain still remains famed for its challenging runs and exposed faces. The tramway brings visitors to the summit of Cannon Mountain in approximately eight minutes. On a clear day, visitors will enjoy views of the mountains of New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Canada, and New York. There are walking paths, an observation deck, cafeteria, and restrooms at the summit.
