Franconia Notch State ParkDescriptionLocated in the heart of the popular White Mountain National Forest, Franconia Notch State Park extends from the Flume Gorge at the south to Echo Lake at the north. It was named one of the 12 best state parks in America. Attractions of the park include the Flume Gorge, the Old Man of the Mountain historical site, fishing in Echo Lake and Profile Lake. The park also features miles of hiking, biking and ski trails.
The Flume Gorge is a natural gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. The Visitor Center houses the Flume ticket office, information center, cafeteria, gift shop.
Franconia Notch State Park is also home to Cannon Mountain, a state-owned ski resort. The mountain is named for a rock formation in the shape of a cannon found on the summit.
