Moffatt-Ladd House and Garden

Description

The Moffatt-Ladd House and Garden is a National Historic Landmark. The house was built for merchant John Moffatt between 1760 and 1763. Later it was the residence of General William Whipple, one of New Hampshire's three signers of the Declaration of Independence and his wife Katharine Moffatt Whipple. The splendid house features an elegant 18th-century garden, interesting carvings and much of the original furniture.
