The East Providence Historical Society As you tour the museum you will find some of the artifacts that are allowed to preview in our showcase. There you will find out some very interesting historical facts about it. The showcase changes its exhibits on an irregular basis, so please return often to view the new items.
Visit also The John Hunt House on Hunt's Mills Road in the City of East Providence. It serves not only as the hub of activities associated with the Historical Society, but also as a house museum and repository for articles of significance to the city.
The Philip Walker House is the second oldest house in the state and the oldest documented house in East Providence. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Getting ThereFrom the North: Follow Pawtucket Ave. (Rt.114) going South to the fork in the road where Rt.114A splits from Rt.114. Pawtucket Ave. (Rt.114) goes right, you want to bear left and follow Rt.114A which is now Pleasant Street. About 0.5 mile after the split, just before the concrete bridge over the Ten Mile River, you will see our sign on the right. Follow the narrow road into the park until you come to the Hunt House Museum on your right.
From the South: From Rt.44 (Taunton Ave.) East or West take Rt.114A North, there is an Isuzu dealership at the intersection. You are now on Fall River Ave. Follow it a little over 0.5 mile and cross the concrete bridge over the Ten Mile River. Past the bridge you will see our sign on your left. Follow the narrow road into the park until you come to the Hunt House Museum on your right.
