 The Hygeia House was built in 1883; it served as both the homestead and practice of Dr. John C. Champlin, one of the island's most successful hoteliers and also the island's only physician. In 1999 the building was purchased and fully restored by Champlin Starr, the great grandson of Dr. Champlin, and his wife Lisa. Now the Starrs and their two young children are the innkeepers of The Hygeia House. They welcome you to visit them and to spend nice time.

 The Attwater Villa was built in 1910; it was one of the first such places in Newport with a unique location which is central to all activities. The house is within walking distance to most attractions! Take a lovely stroll down to the waterfront that will unveil a host of homes that date back to the 17th Century. Only one block from the Attwater Villa is the Tennis Hall of Fame and the beginning of the famous "Mansions". Scenic "Cliff Walk" and the beach are also located directly behind the Villa.
