Ripley's AquariumDescriptionOne of the greatest in America, Ripley's Aquarium was built at a cost of $40 million and is maintained in state-of-the-art condition. A long underwater tunnel allows visitors to see exotic marine creatures on display, from poisonous lionfish to moray eels to an octopus. Menacing 10-foot sharks are traveling close at hand through Dangerous Reef, a 750,000-gallon tank. Children can examine horseshoe crabs and eels in touch tanks. Rio Amazon, the only freshwater exhibit, displays fearsome piranhas, Aruana and Pacu.
