In the fall of each year, hundreds of thousands of migrating waterfowl come on the Katy/Brookshire prairie to roost in potholes and eat rice, corn, and soybeans remained in the fields after harvest. Katy/Brookshire is on the upper Texas coast and accommodates more waterfowl per acre than anywhere in America.

Butch Waggoner was born and grown in Katy. He has been a guide in the area for more than thirty years. Not only is he the proprietor and manager, but he's also a guide in the fields daily. This helps him to become more familiar with the life of the birds.

The staff of Butch's Guide Service believe that hunting is for everyone and is a significant way for friends and family to partake the Great Outdoors. Keeping with this opinion, Hunters under 16 hunt for free with a paying adult.
