Pike Place MarketDescriptionOriginally a farmers market, Pike Place Market was founded in 1907. It allowed shoppers to buy directly from farmers, who sold their products from wagons parked at Pike Place. Later the city built permanent stalls. Today not only farmers and fishmongers, but also craftspeople and artists can be found at Pike Place Market, selling their creations. There are also many small specialty shops throughout the market, selling bakery, candies, tea and coffee, honey, spices, accessories, candles, bath & body products, and other merchandise. Some of the city's best restaurants are located at Pike Place Market.
