The two historic buildings which are now the home of The Inn at Montpelier were built in the 1800's. Both buildings are classical in design and as is typical of New England architecture They have been added to on different occasions. The extravagant wraparound Colonial Revival porch added to the yellow building is a prominent landmark in a row of beautiful townhouses built by the founders of Montpelier.
